Please let me know if you have had your child vaccinated or know someone who did and any side effects they had. Or anyone with actual knowledge of the virus that can help me make a decision.

My oldest son began getting sick on Wednesday after school with a high fever, coughing, sore throat, achy, very tired, etc. My younger son got sent home from school on Thursday sick too. I took them both to the doctor on Thursday afternoon. She said they both had the H1N1 and she prescribed them Tamiflu because of their asthma. Their fevers finally broke yesterday and today neither one has a fever. They are still both coughing a real lot though. I am wondering how long the H1N1 is contagious for? I have heard until 24 hours after the fever is gone without meds, but what about the other symptoms such as all this nasty coughing?

I know you have to sanitize your hands after touching the door knobs and things they would touch but I was wondering about the air in the hallway? The mother is taking no percautions at all to stop the spread of this and told someone not to tell me. The hall way has no heat in it and is cold but it is enclosed and my roommate refuses to wash and sanitize his hands before he comes in the house(I have a bottle of sanitizer right before you come in to our house) and says if he gets it he gets. I have bad asthma and the women upstairs is telling my friend it’s not the kind that can kill you it’s just the swine flu not the H1N1. Is there 2 kinds? I never heard this and are they suppose to be quarantined. I’m freaking out any info or knowledge will help. Also waiting for my Dr. to call.

i’m pregnant and supposed to be getting the vaccine monday. my husband says they are going to turn me away since i’m on antibiotics. i say they arent since h1n1 is a virus, not a bacterial infection (like the uti i’m being treated for), and the antibiotics wouldnt matter to the virus. in other words the antibiotic wouldnt kill the h1n1 virus being administered. correct?

my doctor said i couldnt eat eggs or take asprin after the vaccination, but im not too sure about the eggs thing as she gets confused easily. am i safe to eat eggs? and i got the vaccine yesterday.
my other doctor that doesnt get confused easy only nmentioned the asprin, but not the eggs.

I have heard that a lot of hospitals have changed their visiting policy due to the flu season and H1N1 running like crazy. my cousin is 13 years old and has struggled with her sickle cell anemia disease al her life. this past summer, she was in and out of the hospital every week it seemed like. i dont know much about this disease but i do know that it harms your immune system.
i just found out that my cousin has H1N1 and obviously a strong immune system is needed to fight it off. I’m wondering if she’s going to be okay?

I’ve taken the reg.flu vaccines for the past 7 years(so far no side effects), and admit I am SCARED to take the H1N1 shot and am considered high risk due to my Type 2 diabetes and psoriasis…and they have been giving them out in my city last week.

I have heard many healthy ppl who already taken the H1N1 vaccines, as I’ve already read many in the health care industry…but most in the health care industry are fairly healthy people w/no underlying medical conditions…and I haven’t heard of any w/in the medical community w/underlying medical conditions that have taken the H1N1 vaccine…like an MD or a Nurse w/ Diabetes,cancer ETC.

Has anyone personally WITNESSED anyone w/ medical issues that has taken the H1N1 shot for like the past week or better month ?????
I sure like to hear from someone w/medical issues who actually have recovered from the H1N1 flu !
